Mint/Pudina Boondi Raita

Boondi Raita, A perfect side dish to enjoy with any of your favorite dishes like pulav, biryani, thepla, Stuffed parathas or even simple rice. This is one of my Favorite dish which is simple to make and delicious to eat and healthy too. Raita can be made in different styles and this time I did a slight variation from the traditional recipe which made it more refreshing. I added crushed dried mint leaves. So lets see the recipe of this mouthwatering raita :

Ingredients :
  • Yogurt/Dahi : 2 cups
  • Boondi : 3/4 cup
  • Cumin /Jeera Powder : 2 tsp
  • Red chilli Powder : 2 tsp ( can vary )
  • Crushed Dried Mint leaves : 1 tblsp
  • Sugar : 1 tblsp ( adjust according to taste )
  • Black + regular salt to taste
Method :
  1. Soak boondi in water for 10 mins
  2. Take yogurt in a bowl and beat it well to make smooth consistency without any lumps
  3. Drain water from boondi and add boondi to the yogurt
  4. Add chilli powder, cumin powder, crushed mint leaves, sugar and salt to yogurt and mix well
  5. Serve chilled as a side dish
