Simple Yummy and Quick Aloo Paratha

Abhi and I love all kind of stuffed parathas. But Aloo parathas are the one which we like the most. The recipe is simple but a definite winner. Anytime of day be it a breakfast, lunch or a dinner given an option I think we will go for aloo parathas. One day there were no vegetables in my refrigerator, So i asked abhi 'Aloo Paratha chalega ? ' And the answer was 'Chalega nahi dodega khushi se' . So thought of sharing the recipe with you.

Ingredients :

For making dough:
Whole wheat flour - 2 cups and about less than quarter cup for dusting
water as needed
a pinch of salt
oil 1 tsp

For Filling :
Boiled and mashed potato -2
Coriander leaves - a small bunch minced
Kasuri Methi - 1 tbsp (optional but it surely enhance the flavors )
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Green chilli - one finely minced ( if you don't like very hot can skip this )
cumin powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Amchur powder - 1 tbsp
salt to taste
oil

Method :
  1. For the dough, first mix whole wheat flour and some salt. To this, gradually add lukewarm water to knead and make a soft, pliable dough. Apply oil and rub it over the dough. Let it sit aside.
  2. Mix all the ingredients given for filling.
  3. With the chapathi dough make equal sized smooth balls. Roll out the dough ball into a small chapathi .Place the potato ball in the middle and enclose it by folding the chapathi dough around it.
  4. Dust in flour and Roll this out to a bigger paratha.
  5. Heat a griddle on medium-high and fry the paratha on both sides.
  6. Serve hot with some Yogurt, green chutney and Pickle of choice.
